Jane Shantz, Success Coordinator at Creston Community Elementary School Grades 1-5, showcases the “Creston Cares” value every day as she works to fight childhood hunger in her school.
The Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation’s Power Snack program is helping lift that burden from teachers, just like Jane, by providing coupons for students to purchase the ingredients to make their very own “Power Snack” at home.
Each coupon booklet contains a $5 coupon for deli ham and a $3 coupon for a loaf of whole wheat bread. Easy-to-follow recipes line the booklet to inspire students of all ages with nutritious, pork-based meals.
