“My clients love pork loin and they look forward to this donation every year,” said Mary Peterson of Upper Des Moines Opportunity (UDMO) Pocahontas County. “Pork loin is a healthy choice, but meat can be costly so it’s usually the first thing to go from someone’s diet when money is tight.”
Haul Out Hunger delivered 96 pork loins for the community of Pocahontas. In total, the loins will yield 1,728 servings of protein-packed pork for area individuals and families in-need.
“This just means the world to our clients,” she said. “They appreciate this more than you’ll ever know and it makes me feel good knowing they’re going to be getting quality protein even when I’m no longer here.”
