Our semi didn’t fit in the parking lot, so we parked as close as we could to the
Urbandale Food Pantry and prepared ourselves to haul in 20 cases of pork loins. Out of the pantry came five men–we refer to them as our UFP angels.
“Step back, we’ve got this,” they said. As they swung the doors open on our refrigerated trailer, our hearts swelled.
Not because we were grateful to save our aching muscles and backs, but because we were reminded right at that moment that these volunteers are indeed heroes–heroes for their service to others and the community.
Thanks to our angels everywhere who accept deliveries, haul heavy cases, sort food, run the pantries, pack the food baskets and give of themselves to helping others.
